About the Exhibit

ASAM 320-04 is a class focused on the experience of Filipino Americans. This course examines Filipino American life as portrayed through novels, short stories, plays, poetry, film, music, painting, dance and other expressive forms. The students attended cultural festivals, lectures and special presentations by guest speakers from indigenous tribes of the Philippines. As a result, the students created masks as part of the discussions on myth weaving and cultural identity. This exhibit, during Filipino American Heritage month is the result of their hard work.
