Pollak Library recently welcomed four new staff members to the Access Services Section. In addition, some current staff members have transitioned into new positions with new responsibilities.

Jonathan Cornforth
Jon joins the Pollak Library staff after serving as a library student assistant in the Interlibrary Loan Department at California State University, Fullerton and as a library circulation clerk at the Orange Public Library. He received his B.A. in English from the University of California, Santa Barbara and is currently completing an M.A. in English at California State University, Fullerton.
Guillermina Vega
Guillermina joins the Pollak Library staff after serving as a student assistant in the Interlibrary Loan Section. Guillermina earned a B.A. in both Political Science and Spanish from California State University, Fullerton in 2006. She is currently working on completing an M.A. in Spanish from California State University, Fullerton and is considering working toward a second master's degree in Library Science.
Dan Serranilla
Dan joins the Pollak Library staff after serving as a library student assistant in the Circulation Department. He received a B.A. in History from California State University, Fullerton.
Daniel joins the Pollak Library staff after serving as a student assistant in the Audio Visual and Curriculum Materials Section. He earned a B.A. in both Music and History from California State University, Fullerton in 2002. Beginning in the spring of 1999, he served for four years as a staff singer in the Orange County Pacific Chorale and John Alexander Singers. While working on an M.A. in Chinese history at CSUF, he was a recipient of the Wang Family International Scholarship and studied Chinese language abroad at Peking University for the 2004-2005 academic year. In June of 2006, Daniel was one of two graduate students chosen to accompany Professor Laichen Sun to rural Henan, China, where he conducted research as part of the "Dragon Springs Oral History Project." Daniel plans to complete his thesis on Chinese rural education this upcoming fall.

Eric transitions from Access Services Library Assistant to Reserves Coordinator. Eric is now responsible for directing the Reserves operation, including communicating with faculty and students about copyright issues and the integration of electronic reserves into Blackboard. Currently, the Library is working with CDigix to offer digitized media through their service called CLABS. This service will allow students and faculty access to some of the Library's media collection through the use of course reserves on Blackboard.
Long transitions from Reserves Coordinator to the Head of Circulation Services. In this new role, he directs all aspects of Circulation, including the Circulation Desk, Directional Desk, Reserves, and Shelving.
